Support World Culture Foundation - August 24, 2007
This Sept. 2007, our organization World Culture Foundation will be purchasing a retreat site in Leverett, MA. When acquired, this location will become the center for planning and development for programs and services offered by World Culture Foundation (WCF). In order to seize this very attractive opportunity, we need to raise $65,000 dollars by the beginning of October.
World Culture Foundation is a non-profit organization founded on the belief that humanity is one, and that the cultural resources we offer are a necessary component toward building a compassionate and just society.
Through our activities this year, we have made a solid contribution toward increasing a sense of world community. WCF has made it possible for Black Rebels to perform at North Carolina prisons during the band's September 2006 tour. WCF was also instrumental in bringing 12 American youth on the AzaAshe Roots of Africa tour to Senegal, West Africa on June 25- July 10, 2007. This trip is where the AzaAshe Roots of Africa dance and drum company performed at the center for Talibe Children in Dakar, Senegal. 40 orphaned African children were present for the performance by AzaAshe youth. WCF just completed AzaAshe Roots of Africa Dance and Drum Retreat for all ages- August 18-22, 2007 at the Institute for Musical Arts in Goshen, MA. 17 youth, between the ages of 2 and 15 attended the 5 day retreat. The event focused on building a community through the experience of dance, drumming, chanting, cooking, swimming, games, and story telling in a diverse context of all ages wisdom.
WCF uses the the global reach of music, arts and culture to engage people on a mass scale to bring a shift in consciousness to love.
